Who We Are

As a newly formed educational service organization, CREDO is applying for its non-profit status as a tax exempt organization. We are a membership organization and our members are the body of our community. CREDO is its diverse membership and serves our constituencies:

Professional Members
CREDO helps individual members network with other professionals, share their expertise, learn from other professionals, receive discounts on teaching resources. Information is available about: standards-based curriculum development, advocacy, and partnering with other dance education constituencies to build a community that values dance education as an important aspect of culture and education.

Student Members
CREDO encourages students to become involved in both regional and
national concerns. Students develop a broader scope that includes curriculum
and program development, teaching practices, policy, and dance advocacy
issues that move the field forward to provide a better future for all dance
educators. Some local universities have NDEO Student Chapters in which
students join NDEO at a reduced rate. While these Chapters provide
enormous educational benefits to student members, NDEO cannot support CREDO membership for these students. Membership in CREDO requires an
additional $10 in membership fees.

Retired Members
Retired dance educators can provide enormous expertise and knowledge to the active dance education community. CREDO offers opportunities for these elders to network with younger generations of dance educators to pass on a body of knowledge and dance history to inform the future.

Studios, Schools of Dance, K-12 Programs, Cultural
Institutions, and Community Organizations
CREDO will help institutions deliver and support dance programs or advocate for dance promoting their programs through community networking. Professional development is available to staff. Automatic Membership to NDEO will provide national recognition with all the benefits provided. Students of member institutions receive reduced membership rates ($25). A representative contact person may serve as liaison to NDEO at the Annual Conference or other NDEO activities.

Institutions of Higher Education
Universities, colleges, community colleges, and institutions that matriculate undergraduate or graduate students are provided teaching and learning resources at reduced rates, student advantages, professional development, and opportunities to contribute to credentials for tenure and promotion.

Business/Corporate Members
Members of the business, corporate or commercial community can supports
the philosophy of CREDO and receive discounts in advertising. A free
exhibit table is available at CREDO conferences and events.
